A midweek pause for books, vibes, real life chaos & little comforts
Some weeks I’m flying through pages like my life depends on it… and some weeks? I’m just standing in the doorway of my Audible library, emotionally fragile, unable to commit.
This week is very much the latter.
Let’s check in anyway.
📚 Current Book:

Absolutely nothing. I’m deep in a book hangover.
Genre & Vibe:
After Filthy Rich Fae and Fallen Court, my feelings are in shambles. The tension. The cliffhangers. The everything. Those books didn’t just end — they emotionally drop-kicked me and walked away.
Thoughts So Far:
Now I can’t decide what to pick up next.
I wish I could be one of those effortlessly chill mood readers who just follows the vibes… but instead I’m pacing around my Audible library, overthinking every single choice.
Do I:
- dive straight into another fantasy?
- switch gears with a romance?
- cleanse the palate with something totally different?
Send help. And recommendations. Immediately.
☀️ Midweek Mood
The countdown is officially on.
Two weeks until:
- the end of the summer holidays
- back to work for me
- back to school for the kids
Time is ticking, and I can feel it. I’m trying to soak up these last slow mornings and chaotic afternoons before reality kicks the door back in.
✅ This Week’s Goals
✔️ Decide on and start a new audiobook
Because this hangover cannot last forever — even if my heart wants to wallow a little longer.
🏡 What’s Happening in Real Life
Like I said… the back-to-school/work countdown has begun.
Two weeks to go, and I’m soaking up every ounce of free time while I can. Slow mornings, quiet reading moments, and pretending September doesn’t exist yet.
The only hiccup?
One set of school uniforms still hasn’t arrived — despite being ordered at the end of July.
Please cross all fingers with me that it turns up before September… otherwise we’ll be relying on last year’s slightly-too-small uniform for the first week 😬
Until then:

🌞 summer holiday vibes
👵 What’s Stuck In My Head
The Golden Girls
Since I can’t commit to a new audiobook, I’ve gone full nostalgia mode and started watching Golden Girls on Disney+.
These women are icons. I forgot just how funny it is — the timing, the sarcasm, the absolute chaos.
Dorothy is still my favourite.
Sharp. Sarcastic. Never misses a beat.
Honestly? Aspirational.

🍰 This Week’s Snack & Sip
Snack:
Triple chocolate cheesecake — store-bought, because let’s be real:
money, effort, and waiting time are not happening right now.
One slice each night after the kids are in bed = pure bliss.
Sip:
A nice hot cup of tea.
I have to pair hot drinks with cold puddings — cheesecake, ice cream, anything. That hot-cold contrast just scratches something in my brain.

✨ Wrap It Up
This week is a strange mix of:
- emotional book hangover
- summer slipping away
- real life creeping back in
But honestly? I’m okay with it.
Slow weeks still count. Rest still counts. And staring at your book library in indecision is practically a reader rite of passage.
