A midweek pause for books, vibes, real life chaos & little comforts
The first week back into routine always feels a little strange — like life’s gently nudging me back into place while I’m still mentally on holiday. This week has been all about easing back into work, settling the kids back into school mode, and sneaking in audiobook time wherever I can. Let’s check in.
📚 Current Book:

Twisted Love by Ana Huang
Format: Audiobook
Genre & Vibe: Contemporary Romance | Steamy, emotional, and that perfect mix of angst + romance. It’s absolutely scratching the itch I’ve had since my last binge listen.
Thoughts So Far: I genuinely thought I’d have this finished by Monday… but nope — almost there though! I’m fully invested at this point and already thinking ahead to what’s next. I’ve been eyeing up some Graphic Audio titles, especially books I already own in physical form. Everyone says they’re basically audiobook movies and honestly? That sounds like a dream.
🌤️ Midweek Mood
It’s the first week back at work and, surprisingly, I’m really glad to be back. I’ve missed chatting with other adults (no shade to OH or family visits — but it’s not quite the same). Seeing the kids’ smiley faces when I bring out their meals genuinely makes my day, and it’s been a really good start back into routine.

✅ This Week’s Goals
- Finish Twisted Love
- Hopefully crack open the next audiobook straight after
Nothing wild — just steady, achievable goals this week.
🏡 What’s Happening in Real Life
With work starting up again and the kids back at school, life is mostly about slipping back into early mornings and routines. Nothing too exciting yet… but I know next week’s overtime and 5:30am wake-ups are going to be brutal.
Wish me luck 😴

📺 What’s Stuck In My Head
The new season of The Great British Bake Off started last night and my inner baker is thrilled. Even better? OH is out on Tuesday evenings doing Ludosport (aka Star Wars lightsaber fighting as an actual sport), which means uninterrupted Bake Off viewing with snacks.
Absolute bliss.

🍫 This Week’s Snack & Sip
Snack:
Tuesdays are officially snack attack nights thanks to Bake Off cravings. This week’s spread included M&S Cheese Twists, crisps, and a Dairy Milk bar — elite combo, honestly.
Drink:
Back to regular cups of tea at work ☕
And my trusty Pepsi Max at home 🥤
✨ Wrap It Up
This week feels like a soft reset — back into routine, back into books, and back into little moments that make the days feel full. Nothing flashy, just comfort, consistency, and a very good romance keeping me company.
