Book Hauls

📚 Book Haul & Sweet Treats – A Little Reward for Surviving Week One Back at Work

Surviving the first week back at work deserves a reward, right? For me, that meant a quick little shopping trip to The Works where I couldn’t resist treating myself to some shiny new physical books. There’s just something so comforting about walking out with a bag full of stories waiting to be read. Here’s what came home with me:

✨ Grin and Beard It by Penny Reid (Deluxe Edition)

Ohhh this one is a beauty. I already own the deluxe edition of the first book in the Winston Brothers series, so when I spotted this I knew it had to come with me.

  • Sprayed edges that match the cover.
  • Bonus features galore: illustrations, a map (I love a map in books), the family tree, dating profiles for both MCs, a playlist, a deleted scene… basically everything that makes my collector’s heart sing.

Safe to say, I think I’m now committed to owning the entire series in deluxe.

☀️ Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood

This one was heavily influenced by Bookstagram. Honestly, I’ve seen it everywhere and the hype is real. I’ve only read Bride by Ali Hazelwood before and loved it, so I’ve got high hopes. Fingers crossed it gives me the same cozy-but-spicy vibe!

💕 Love Arranged by Lauren Asher

Book three of the series, and since I already own the first two, there was no way I was leaving this behind. Nothing makes my brain itch more than having an unfinished series on the shelf. Now it’s complete and my collection feels so much happier.

🪄 Enchantra by Kaylie Smith

Another series I’ve been slowly collecting, so it just made sense to grab this while I saw it. Sometimes these “series add-ons” feel less like indulgent hauls and more like keeping my bookish universe neatly in order!

📖 Book Boyfriend by Lucy Vine

This was pure impulse — I read the blurb, got excited, and the adorable sprayed edge sealed the deal. Honestly, I don’t regret it one bit. This feels like it’s going to be a fun, lighter read in between some of my chunkier fantasy or dark romance picks.

🍩 Bonus Treat – Hogwarts Doughnuts!

After my little book haul stop, I popped into ASDA for something sweet and ended up grabbing the special Houses of Hogwarts Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Perfect end-of-week pick-me-up!

  • Me: Hufflepuff (thanks to Hogwarts Legacy).
  • OH: Gryffindor.
  • Eldest: Gryffindor.
  • Youngest: not sorted yet, but at school he’s in the yellow house — so he proudly declared himself my fellow Hufflepuff. 💛

The Hufflepuff doughnut was caramel cream filled with chocolate drizzle, cookie pieces, and an edible crest plaque. It was honestly gorgeous and went down a treat with a hot cup of tea.

📚✨ All in all, I’d say it was the perfect way to celebrate making it through that first week back — new stories for the shelves and sweet treats for the soul.

Come Say Hi!
