Spooky snacks, stitching pauses & a much-needed reset 🎃
✨ A Month in a Nutshell
October came in loud — and left in a blur of pumpkins, half term chaos, and just a sprinkle of bookish joy.
Did I listen to loads of audiobooks? Nope.
Did I finish anything? Also nope.
Did I still manage to laugh, rest, and tick off a few wins along the way? Absolutely.
Let’s take a look back at the little moments that made this month a perfectly imperfect patchwork of autumn chaos.
📖 What Books Kept Me Company
| Title | Author | Rating | Vibes | Link to Review |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lights Out | Navessa Allen | Still Reading | Sarcastic MMC, Found family, Deadpool energy | In Progress |
🎧 Total listening time this month: 8 hrs 19 mins
📖 This month’s fave: Lights Out — even though I haven’t finished, the MMC’s chaotic humour is chef’s kiss
💭 Vibe Check: How I’m Really Feeling
Busy as usual (story of my life) — but we had a lovely Halloween half term that gave me a little breather. I used it to rest, reset, and sneak in some stitches when I wasn’t busy playing entertainer-in-chief for the boys 🎃🍂
✅ Hits & ❌ Misses: Monthly Goal Recap
| Goal | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 🎬 Do this month’s theme dinner | ✅ | Mythbusters was a blast! And November’s is already picked! |
| 🎧 Listen to audiobooks | ❌ | Not much time listening but loved what I did |
🧁 Snack & Sip of the Month
Nothing beats a good treat when you’re short on time but still want something nice.
🧁 Snack: Treats from our local bakery Baked Brownies – so soft, so chocolatey.
🥤 Drink: Forever loyal to Pepsi Max 🖤
Verdict: Cosy chaos fuel approved!
🎉 Little Wins & Life Bits
- ✅ First Aid Course: Online + full in-person day = done for another 2 years 🙌
- 🌀 Hyper Fixation Alert: I fell hard into an AI rabbit hole (can’t wait to show you why!) and let’s just say the stitching needle was left on pause… but for a good reason!
- 🧪 Theme Dinner #2: Another success! Loved how it turned out and got November’s planned already!
- 🐾 Dog Sitting Adventures: Me + the boys = doggy chaos while helping out my sister mid-month.
- 🌽 Half Term Fun: Pumpkin + corn picking with Mum & Stepdad (we even got to de-ear our own corn 🌽💥), and of course the usual lovely visit to Nana.
- 🎃 Keeping the Kids Entertained: Mission complete 💪

🔮 Looking Ahead
November goals = keep it simple & sane:
- Finish Lights Out and dive into a new audiobook
- Brainstorm new blog post ideas
- Get serious about Christmas prep (I know what I’m doing… now I just need to do it 😅🎄)
💌 Wrap It Up
October might not have been the most productive in terms of books but honestly? I’m okay with that. It gave me time to breathe, reset, and enjoy the little moments — and that’s what this season is all about. 🍁✨
