🎅 Elvis & Toffee’s Christmas Countdown: 24 Days of Mischief & Magic

A cozy countdown filled with laughter, mischief, and a little bit of Christmas wonder.

Elvis & Toffee – 11 years of Christmas chaos 🎄✨

✨ The Magic Returns

Elvis and Toffee are back for their 11th year of festive fun! Join our family’s 24-day countdown filled with mischief, magic, and a whole lot of Christmas giggles.

Every December, our home transforms into a mix of cinnamon-scented chaos and twinkling lights — and somewhere among it all, two cheeky elves always manage to cause just the right amount of trouble.

🎁 A Little Elf History

It all started back in 2014, when my eldest was just two years old. Christmas is magical, but for little ones with ADHD it can also be a lot — the flashing lights, the songs, the excitement, the change in routines. So I wanted something small and fun to help focus that whirlwind energy into giggles and wonder.

That’s when Elvis the Elf arrived. He was named after my Granddad’s favourite singer Elvis Presley, which he always played for my eldest — so it felt extra special. And honestly? That little elf worked wonders. Elvis became part of our family’s Christmas rhythm, bringing joy and calm to the season.

Fast forward to 2019, when my youngest turned two, and we decided it was only fair he had his own elf too. Enter Toffee — Elvis’s mischievous sidekick and partner in holiday crime!

Now in 2025, we’re celebrating eleven whole years of this magical tradition. Even though my eldest is now thirteen and starting to question everything, he still loves seeing where the elves pop up. When my niece comes over, he’s the first one to show her where Elvis and Toffee are hiding — proof that the Christmas magic really does stick around.

🧠 Creative Blocks & “Elf Flu” Years

Now let’s be honest… there have definitely been years when the elves have “come down with Elf Flu.” 😂
Because between work, the kids, and the holiday madness, some nights I just cannot be bothered to move them — and that’s okay!

I’ve had those mum burnout moments where the creativity tank is empty. But thanks to Pinterest and a few very late-night brainstorming sessions, I’ve gathered a treasure trove of easy, low-budget Elf ideas that don’t need fancy props or tons of effort. Sometimes, it’s the simple setups that bring the biggest smiles.

🎄 This Year’s Elf Adventure (2025)

This year, I’m doing something extra special — a month-long Elf on the Shelf mini-series!
From 1st to 24th December, I’ll post a new mini-blog each day sharing:

  • What Elvis and Toffee got up to that morning
  • Behind-the-scenes photos and how-to tips
  • Budget-friendly ways to recreate the magic at home

Because elf fun shouldn’t cost a fortune — it just needs a little imagination (and maybe some spare toilet roll tubes 😉).

💫 Behind the Magic

Each mini post will include:

  • Behind the Scenes: what it really looked like setting it up at midnight (tape in my hair and all!)
  • Recreate It at Home: quick tips using things you already have
  • Budget Elf Hacks: small ideas, big smiles

🧝‍♀️ The Elf Countdown 2025

Here’s where you can follow along with Elvis & Toffee’s Christmas Countdown — each day will link to a separate mini post packed with ideas, mischief, and behind-the-scenes fun!

❤️ The Real Reason Behind the Elves

For me, Elvis and Toffee are more than silly Christmas props. They’ve become a part of our family story — a way to pause in the middle of December’s chaos and reconnect through laughter.

Even as the boys grow older, the sparkle of excitement each morning still lights up the house. Watching them look for the elves — even when they know the secret — is proof that the heart of Christmas isn’t about believing in elves… it’s about believing in the magic of family, laughter, and little traditions that last a lifetime.
