🧝♀️ What They Did
It’s decorating day! Elvis and Toffee decided to “help” us deck the halls — and as usual, their version of helping turned into a full-blown festive mess. One got completely tangled up in the tinsel while the other got lost somewhere in the fairy lights. Let’s just say they’re more decoration disasters than Christmas helpers!
🎬 Behind the Scenes
Usually, we wait until the first Friday of the month to decorate, but this year? We’re diving in early! There’s just something about this Christmas — everyone seems to be getting their decorations up ahead of time. Maybe it’s the need for some extra sparkly joy after all the doom and gloom from the Government’s budget announcements 🙄.
So after work, I went straight into full-on elf mode:
✨ Outside lights first (while freezing, obviously)
✨ Then inside — getting the tree up, fluffing branches
✨ Wrestling with the tree lights (a yearly battle)
Once the boys got home from school, we all pitched in together — hanging baubles, adding garlands, and turning the house into our own personal Winter Wonderland.
And honestly? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again —
🎄 I am 100% a tacky, full-on-colour Christmas decorator.
None of this beige-and-gold minimal aesthetic for me, thank you very much!
Give me:
💚 vibrant colours
💛 glitter
✨ chaotic, sparkly, mismatched, joyful decorations everywhere
It’s the messy, colourful kind of Christmas that just feels right — and the elves clearly agree!

💡 Recreate It at Home
I don’t need to tell you how to recreate this one — everyone has their own family decorating traditions! Whether you’re minimalist chic or full-blown tinsel tornado, it’s all about making your space feel magical and you.
🪄 Elf Hack of the Day
💫 Keep a few “emergency elf excuses” written down for those nights when you forget to move them — classics like “Elf Flu,” “Too Cold to Travel,” or “North Pole Zoom Meeting” work every time!

What do your elves get up to on the second day? Do they help decorate or just cause glittery chaos like mine?
