🧝♀️ What They Did
With the last day of school finally here, Elvis and Toffee decided it was officially party time. They kicked off the celebrations by decking out the house with full festive flair — streamers, shiny decorations, and all the end-of-term freedom energy.
🎬 Behind the Scenes
It’s the last day of school for the boys — and for me, it’s my final shift before Christmas break too! 🥳 So I always like to make it a big deal and mark the moment with a fun, festive setup.
I always decorate the mini hall between the bedrooms and bathroom with foil door fringes (I’ve done it for about three years now), but this year I really jazzed it up with a full party pack I found on Amazon — ceiling decorations, wall bits, the lot. They’re staying up until they fall down, get ripped (those foil door fringes always suffer because the eldest insists on a dramatic flick-open entrance), or until I finally take all the Christmas decorations down.
Because the space is so tiny there’s absolutely no room for the elves to sit in there, so they ended up perched on the radiator in the living room instead — each one wearing a glow stick necklace like they were fully ready to party. Bright, silly, and the perfect kickoff to holiday freedom! 🎄✨

💡 Recreate It at Home
This setup is as easy as it gets — and so much fun!
- Use any party-style decorations you already have: balloons, banners, tinsel, streamers.
- If you’re like me and never keep decorations, grab a few cheap bits from the supermarket’s party aisle or card shop. I found this party pack and these foil door fringes on Amazon
- Add a few paper hats or mini cups for your elves and you’ve got instant party vibes.
It’s the kind of cheerful chaos that’s guaranteed to make the last school morning feel extra special.
🪄 Elf Hack of the Day
💫 If your elves need to stand or hold things (like balloons or banners), use clear elastic hair bands or tiny blobs of Blu Tack — they’re total lifesavers for posing those little arms and keeping everything in place!
